DIY Porn on the iPhone

Most of the regular iPhone / iPod Touch users already know that there's no sign of porn or erotica to be found in the Apple App Store. Reason for this is (according to Steve Jobs);

You know, there’s a porn store for Android. You can download nothing but porn. You can download porn, your kids can download porn. That’s a place we don’t want to go – so we’re not going to go there.

So no porn for the iPhone (at least not the jailbraked versions), or is it? It seems that Apple facilitates the biggest 'app' for getting your porn 'fix'. The app is called 'Safari'. The good old browser. The application that made the Internet for what it is today. As an alternative you can use iTunes to provide you your 'fix'.

Note that eventhough I'm talking porn/erotica here, you can project this to any piece of content (Animations, Comics, Donald Duck, Dead Sea Scrolls, etc.).

Before continuing, I must warn you. The complete article might have some explicit pictures, so continue at your own risk. I can't and won't be held responsible for the consequences.

How to get porn on your iPhone:

'Online'

You might be buying your online porn at commercial websites (they say that there are at least 'a couple' of them around). Many of them have special websites build especially for mobile devices. All you need in most cases is a credit card and be over 18 years of age.

Since you own an iPhone, you also must have a PC / laptop. You can turn this machine in your own private porn website. All you need to do is enable the build-in webserver and serve the content this way.

Every OSX platform has a built-in webserver. Content stored in the Sites folder under your account will be visible when you direct your browser to the IP address (or hostname) of the laptop/PC (you need to enable Web sharing in the preferences panel). This is probably similar for Windows-based operating systems.

Make sure the content can be viewed on the iPhone / iPod touch. I'm told that the m4v format (QuickTime) will do the trick. Only problem is that Microsoft Internet Information Server won't stream the content by default. You need to add an additional MIME-type for the m4v extension;

video/x-m4v

You can use HandBrake to convert the content to iPhone compatible format.

If this is all done correctly, just enter the URL for your webserver into Safari on your mobile device and start watching the content Apple doesn't want you to have/watch, or whatever.

iTunes

This is the easiest way of getting the content on your iPhone. Just drag the movies to iTunes, and synchronize them to your phone. Downside is that everybody getting a hold of your phone might find the content.

By now we have three applications/services (Safari, built-din personal webserver, and iTunes) made and provided by Apple for watching 'filthy' content.

Proof

This paragraph contains the possible explicit content. So stop reading here, if you can't, won't or aren't allowed to watch this for whatever reason. Don't say I didn't warn you.
